B3, Or Not B3

I just got my hands on the B4 Hammond Organ plug-in from Native Instruments… all I can say is frakin’ WOW! That is one cool little module. I’ve had the chance to click on a B3 a couple of times, including that old mother down there at Criteria in Miami, and this sounds as good, but it is way more portable. The Leslie effects are sweet, it distorts, has a ton of great presets that span rock’s history. You want that organ sound that The Zombies got back in ’68? Covered. A little James Brown? Perc-a-latin’ right there for ya. Headphones are even better… Now the trick: I only have it as a VST, and I’m using ProTools now, which means I need a converter to RTAS. Figures. I’m not worried. Birago will come through for me, I’m sure … Once he does, I’ll fit it right into a couple of Shawn’s tracks (The new cut of “Deja Vu” comes immediately to mind)…
